Photos Emerge of Emirates A380 Showers: Tiny, But Luxurious

9:44PM July 30, 2008 | Kit Eaton

See that happy-looking lady in the pic? She’s standing in an Emirates A380 in-flight shower room, details of which have emerged after we first alerted you to this airborne luxury. The “shower spas” are pretty decently kitted-out, and the aircraft carries an extra 500kg of water to allow every one of the 14 first-class passengers to have a splash. As a result, the shower only runs for five minutes, and there’s a traffic-light system to let you know how the time’s going. And if you’re planning on trying to form a new “mile-high, in the shower” club, you’d better forget it: the showers are small, “designed for single usage.”

Amoré Bay Is Most Hideous Jacuzzi Ever Created

12:30AM January 29, 2008 | Gizmodo US Edition

This is $20,000 of love-themed hot tub, the Walker Signature Special Edition. Special features include seating for six, tacky red hearts, fountains, Valentine-red colours, a “playground area” and MP3-ready stereo. Our ideal use for this tasteless Jacuzzi is in the video after the jump. [Born Rich and Dimension One press release]

iPod Compatible SpaCapsule is a Feast For the Senses

11:40AM November 14, 2007 | Sean Fallon

When it comes to relaxation, there isn’t much that the SpaCapsule can’t do. It features a super “secret” Pulse Jet aqua massage system, a personal aroma diffuser that allows the user to choose from over 120 essential oils, a built-in iPod compatible sound system, and a video system that plays soothing trippy visuals for the customer to groove on.

The makers of the device claim that it can be used in both domestic and commercial settings —but it is available on a contact basis only, so don’t expect it to come cheap. Although if you have the cash to drop on something like this it might be interesting to pipe in some Trek and pretend you’re flying through space in this thing. [Product Page via TFTS] More »

LCD-Equipped Hot Tub Goes for the Subtle Luxuries

11:35PM October 31, 2007 | Adam Frucci

We’ve certainly seen some ludicrous hot tubs with gigantic TVs attached before, but this “Extreme Spa” seems to be gunning for nuance rather than hitting you over the head with a gigantic screen. It’s got a modest 17-inch LCD screen installed which is connected to a Sony sound system, Boss controls, and a DVD player. It also has such niceties as a towel warmer, LED-equipped headrests, and fancy underwater lights. Sure, there’s no 60-inch TV attached, but come on, that wouldn’t even be that cool. Although for $16,000, you might expect something that over-the-top. [Product Page via Crave] More »

New Jacuzzi J400 Hot Tub is All About the iPod

10:20AM October 18, 2007 | Sean Fallon

I dream of a day that I can dock my iPod with anything, (although I think that the release of the iCarta toilet paper holder a couple of years ago pretty much made that dream a reality.) and now Jacuzzi is doing their part with the J400 series line of iPod-compatible hot tubs. Thanks to the integrated AquaSound Audio System, you can listen to your favourite tunes without headphones while you relax. The music is pumped through waterproof micro-speakers that you can control with a sweet floating remote. More »

CeBIT: Girls in spa with condoms… for your phone

Flag
9:00AM May 4, 2007 | Seamus Byrne

So here are those girls in the spa I mentioned earlier. They were showing off some new mobile phone protective covers called ‘Skins’… basically, large condoms you wrap your phone in before hitting the water, or mud, or jelly. Y’know, whatever.

Another photo follows the drop, showing a small number of the non-stop flow of men hovering around the spa. -Seamus Byrne
