That stylish new Vaio Z from yesterday could be one of the nicest little laptops this side of the MacBook air, but $4000? Yikes. If it’s any consolation, the external GPU-equipped machine will arrive in either black or gold. Hmm.
Sony’s slim 13.1-inch Vaio Z was one of our favourite laptops in 2010, and this year’s model looks like a cracker, too. And that accessory next to it? Sony’s calling it the Power Media Dock—it connects via a hybrid Light-Peak-based USB 3.0 port to provide 1GB AMD Radeon 6650M graphics, HDMI and VGA output and a Blu-ray drive.
We’ve got some more details on Sony’s beefed-up VAIO Z series of laptops which were announced at CES, namely the addition of Quad SSD drives, Intel Core i7-620M processors and NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M chips.
