Samsung’s Galaxy S line of phones – all essentially the same, marched out across a gamut of carriers – is set to hit Verizon in the US. The 1Ghz, Android 2.1-powered Samsung Fascinate will cost $US200 on contract (after a dreaded $US100 mail-in rebate), and customers can pick one up online tomorrow or in stores on September 9. Like all the other Galaxy S phones, it’s been promised a Froyo update soon.
Samsung says they’ve sold a million Galaxy S phones in the US over a month and a half – not iPhone 4 debut numbers, but strong nonetheless. Verizon and Sprint will soon offer the Galaxy, following AT&T and T-Mobile. [Forbes]
