In other news to come out of the local HTC ChaCha and Salsa launch, it’s been suggested that the Salsa will be replacing the Legend. The latter is currently listed as out of stock on Vodafone’s website. The two phones share an aluminium body and 320×480 screen, but the Salsa improves on the Legend with Gingerbread, an 800MHz processor and 512MB of internal memory.
HTC has today announced that its new ChaCha and Salsa smartphones, will be available from July 6, exclusive to Vodafone and 3. But in an odd twist, it’s been revealed that the bootloaders on these new Gingerbread “Facebook phones” will be locked. Updated.
Sure, the new phones INQ and HTC rolled out this week are Facebook-friendly. But none of them is the Facebook phone. Which, despite repeated protestations to the contrary, it sure sounds like is in the works. Although not how we first thought.
