			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>For all the <a href="http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2009/01/aussies_love_them_some_games_almost_2_billion_spent_on_games_in_2008.html">good</a> <a href="http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2009/01/aussies_love_them_some_games_part_ii_xbox_edition.html">news</a> that came out about the Australian gaming industry yesterday, here&#8217;s some sad news to counter it: Red Ant, the local distributor for Capcom, Bethesda, Konami and Midway games titles (plus they sell all the TNA wrestling DVDs) has gone into receivership. We heard the rumour this morning, but comments over on <a href="http://www.kotaku.com.au/games/2009/01/rumour_red_ant_closing_up_shop.html">Kotaku AU</a>&#8217;s story point us to the <a href="http://www.search.asic.gov.au/cgi-bin/gns030c?acn=096_799_692&#038;juris=9&#038;hdtext=ACN&#038;srchsrc=1">ASIC site</a> which confirms it. It&#8217;s a sad day when any Aussie tech company goes over, and is a stark reminder of just how tough these times are financially.</p>

Here&#8217;s hoping they manage to stay afloat in these tough economic times &#8211; even though they don&#8217;t really venture too far below the RRP for their movies, they do have a pretty extensive selection, and their <a href="http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2008/03/dealzmodo_ezydvd_beating_the_hd_dvd_bomb_again.html">Beat the Bomb</a> sales are always good value&#8230;</p>
