Chinese telecoms giant Huawei obviously has a bit of a love affair with Australia. They’ve just announced an Australian board of directors for Australia, the first of its kind outside of China, and has stacked the board with ex-politicians John Brumby and Alexander Downer. Not sure exactly what they’ll be doing, but it’s good to know that our ex-politicians don’t have to rely solely on their government pensions to survive. [Northern Star]
Just when you think you’ve gotten over the never-ending promises from politicians wanting your vote, the Victorians are getting ready to head to the polls at the end of this month. As part of their proposed health policy, the Brumby government is promising a $1.5 billion health package, which – according to The Age – includes “iPads for every doctor working in a public hospital”.
It’s somewhat amazing that former Queensland premiere not only has an editorial in the Australian today arguing for the introduction of an R18+ rating, but he also attended the recent E3 gaming expo in LA. This makes him the second high profile Queensland politician who’s argued for adult games classification.
