I can’t remember the last time I printed anything, but after watching this Lego felt-tip printer in action – complete with Mac OS X drivers – I’m thinking about building one for myself and getting back into it.

Lumopro Hot Shoe Lets Any Flash Do It with Any Camera

The LumoPro Hot Shoe Universal Translator is an adapter that lets you link any flash with any camera—except Sony’s. And anything that makes artificially-incompatible things mix and match is a winner for us.

IR Hacks: Some Perspective

While much of the internet may be up in arms over Richard Blakeley’s recent IR-induced video stunt, a 14-year-old boy from Poland allegedly took an IR hack to more tragic proportions this week, and has been accused of hacking a standard TV remote to override track switching at rail junctions in the city of Lodz. Four trams were derailed and (luckily) only 12 people were injured with none killed. The youth in question was described by teachers as an “electronics buff and exemplary student,” according to The Register.

The lesson? From here on out, Blakeley takes a cab. And he stays the fuck away from our train set. [theregister via boingboing] [image]

Quartics Mobile2Display Wirelessly Clones Your Phone

It didn’t look like much passing by, but the folks at Quartics have come up with a way to transmit your Windows Mobile phone’s screen to a display via a Wi-Fi dongle at 8 frames per second, allowing the world (or at least the room) to see what you see on your tiny display. A WM6 program was first on Quartics’ agenda but the guys said they were hard at work on an iPhone version that should be coming out soon. Quartics has a similar product called PC2TV, that delivers 1280×720 continuous screen shots wirelessly at 15 frames per second, with 30fps if you can get your screen res down to 1280×720. Sneaker Pimps Functional NES Footwear

Spotted at the Sneaker Pimps tour finale NY, these NES shoes are probably the greatest thing ever. We can only assume they play NES games, and if such is the case, we declare this footwear to have “won.” Gizmodo will now give up its quest of searching for the ultimate gadget, and will return to its original mission: a blog focused on the teachings of the character Gizmo and his/her various hairstyles. Yes, it will be a step down for us all. We apologise for this shoe’s awesomeness, but retro gaming footwear is a force that cannot be stopped. [flickr via crunchgear]
