There are a lot of internet-ready TVs hitting the market this year, but a lot of them only offer a wired solution out of the box – you need to spend a bit of coin to get a branded wireless adaptor if you don’t want to remodel your home with Ethernet cables. Fortunately for Panasonic TV owners, they’ve partnered with Netgear allowing you to use Netgear’s USB wireless adaptors in certain Viera TVs to get them online.
The Netgear Universal Wi-Fi Internet adaptor can connect anything with an Ethernet port to your 802.11n network, be it an Xbox 360 or a TV. But so can many other devices on the market. What’s better about this one?
Netgear and Ericsson have been tinkering away on a joint project, the fruits of which have weaned today – the MBRN3300E 3G mobile broadband router.
If you haven’t upgraded to wireless-N yet, now is a great time. The spec is finally ratified and Netgear is celebrating by dropping the WNR3500L with USB networking and pre-loaded Linux for open source tinkerers.
