Online sales in Australia are nothing new, but figures released by Myer indicate that even the big brand stores are starting to get real traction. Could this the dawning of ubiquitous online aussie retail?
You still can’t buy an Australian Galaxy Tab 10.1, thanks to the ongoing legal battles between Apple and Samsung; it looks as though it’ll be at least the end of September before you can. Still, Samsung’s plans for the tablet were sufficiently advanced that Myer’s online catalogue listed the tablet for sale this week.
You’ll either love it or hate it dear readers, but Myer’s Chinese based website experiment, which aims to repeal the GST that customers pay on locally sourced goods has gone live today. The problem with the site (Myfind.com) is that the majority of its ‘deals’ hardly look inspiring enough to make the shift across from cheaper and more established e-tailers.
Just spotted in the current Myer sale catalogue that you can nab a Toshiba 2GB U3 flash drive for just $29. Sale started yesterday and runs to June 17, though I get the feeling these would have been very limited supply. So if you want, you better hop to it fast. -Seamus Byrne
UPDATE: Add 1GB for $19, and 4GB for $69 to that.
It’s quite a good general tech sale, actually, under the ‘tax time deals’ monniker.
