Is Zune Finally, Officially, For Real Dead This Time?

It’s getting to be one of the more recycled rumours in tech: Microsoft is done with Zune hardware, but Zune software will live on, maybe rebranded, maybe not. This time it’s Bloomberg’s Dina Bass throwing her tweet into the ring, saying that we won’t be seeing any more Zune hardware.

Microsoft Might Lower Zune Pass Price To Keep Up With Competition

According to Bloomberg, Microsoft might be considering lowering the price on its Zune Pass service in order to better compete with Apple and RealNetworks. Currently the service gives you unlimited music streaming and 10 song downloads for $US14.99/month. [Bloomberg]

Zune HD In 64GB Capacity Coming Soon?

Wander over to Zune’s website and you’ll see three different capacities for the Zune HD are listed: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. There’s no further info on that roomy HD, but we’ll be here all day, Microsoft. [Zune Thanks, tipsters!]

Rumour: Zune HD Comes In 16/32GB Sizes, Launches September 8

A tipster just dropped off a few internal Microsoft docs that point to a September 8 launch of the Zune HD. In addition to that, the tipster says it’s coming in 16GB and 32GB versions. All pretty logical.
