Han Solo, P.I. Is One Pitch-Perfect Mashup

2:50AM Adam Frucci | This Star Wars/Magnum P.I. mashup is great. Then you watch the side-by-side comparison with the original, and it becomes incredible. More »

Star Wars/Macguyver Mashup Just Makes Sense

8:40AM Adam Frucci | Call me crazy, but if Star Wars was a Macgyver-style drama on network TV in the 1980’s, I think it would have been an even bigger entertainment phenomenon. I mean, this is awesome. [Thanks, Audrius] More »

Wall-E/Watchmen Trailer Mashup is Pure Genius

5:20AM Adam Frucci | Sure, Wall-E had some dark overtones to it, but not as many as this fake trailer makes it seem. I want to see a movie-length remix like this. [Videosift via The Daily What] More »

AT&T Bringing (a Tiny, Frustrating Bit Of) Speech Recognition to the iPhone, Others

6:10AM Gizmodo US Edition | AT&T’s Speech Mashups is a web-based service that will bring voice-activated search to the iPhone, as well as other Edge and 3G handsets. Instead of managing speech recognition on the actual handset, Speech Mashups sends the audio sample to the server, processes it and sends back a text transcription or command to your phone. Unfortunately for iPhone owners, this does not mean voice dialing or speech-to-text app support. Not at all. More »

Guitar Hero and Rock Band Controller Mod For Finicky Fingers

11:30AM Matt Hickey | Guitar Hero fans usually hate the Rock Band guitar controller and vice versa. Instructables has a pretty good how-to that can solve the problem for Guitar Hero fans at the cost of a Rock Band controller. It’s a way to mash up an old PS2 Guitar Hero controller with the Rock Band Fender guitar and make a perfect hybrid with raised keys a clicky strum. You could just use an Xbox 360 Guitar Hero controller for Rock Band if you’re on an, but where’s the fun in that? [Instructables] More »

Double Case Mod: Xbox 360 and HDTV Mashed Up

11:00AM Matt Hickey | It’s not often that a case mod involves modding two cases into one, but it’s not often you get to see an Xbox 360 stuffed inside an LCD HDTV. PvP LostKnight has done just that to save space, creating what’s perhaps the world’s first Xbox console console. Not only does it work but it looks really nice, something I’d put in my living room without having to make excuses to my parents when they come to visit. And it’s fully functional. [PSPMod] More »

The UBiqWindow: Google Earth Hologram Device You’ll Want

11:30PM Matt Hickey | If you can forgive the crap music, you’ll just love this video of Google Earth mashed up with a hologram machine. This is real, and I want one very, very badly. By combining a 2D mid-air projection system and motion sensors, the device gives you a gesture-based interface for exploring the world. The term “badass” springs to mind. Girl Talk Meets the Macbook Air Commercial, Lends it Some Street Cred

11:55PM Adam Frucci | Girl Talk, the manic mashup artist who combines hundreds and hundreds of samples to create his frenetic, ADD music, just released his new album, Feed the Animals last week (as a pay-what-you-want download, incidentally). It includes a song with “New Soul” by Yael Naim sampled, the song from the Macbook Air ad. Of course, now that song has been mashed up with the original ad. It’s pretty sweet. [Andrew Pile] More »
