The AP reports that this Malaysian man was punched and stabbed because he refused to share the microphone and was hogging the stage. Of all the things to make a stand over, your right to belt out a Pussycat Dolls tune is not one of the ones we recommend. This has been a Giz Tech Tip. The dog, who had arrived from Northern Ireland with his chum Paddy, both of them a.gift from the Motion Picture Association of America, was one of the newest members of Malaysia’s pirate DVD sniffer dog team, had not yet started work, as he had yet to acclimatise to the tropical heat in his new home. Lucky and Flo, the original members of the snooper-doggy-dog team, which rounded up over $6 million-worth of counterfeit DVDs during their tour of duty, had had a US$28,000 bounty on their furry heads, foul play is not thought to be responsible for Manny’s demise.

Lucky and Flo, two black Labradors, have been given outstanding service awards for their part in a five-month campaign that has crippled DVD piracy. The two hounds are responsible for the seizure of over $6 million worth of illegal DVDs in Malaysia, as well as the arrest of 26 people, despite the fact that a $28,560 bounty had been put on the dogs’ heads. The Motion Picture Association of America has declared itself so pleased with the canine division’s results that it is to donate two more dogs to Malaysia’s Anti-Piracy Unit at the end of the year. And it’s not the first time that the MPAA has intervened in Malaysia. The new recruits will be trained in the art of sniffing out the chemicals used in the manufacture of DVDs.

Meanwhile, Lucky and Flo are on their way to North America, where they will embark on a promotional tour. First up is New York, then Toronto, where they will make an appearance at a film festival.

A dead man got a $218 trillion bill —trillion as in $218,000,000,000,000 Washingtons— from his cellphone carrier and a letter telling him to settle within ten days or face legal action.

Telekom Malaysia billed him after his son Yahaya Wahab cancelled the contract last January and paid the $23 that the father owed at the time of his death. His son —who received the 806,400,000,000,000.01-ringgit bill months after— said that he nearly fainted, probably because of the impression of seeing all those zeros on paper more than from the idea of his zombie father calling phone-sex lines from the afterlife.

He’s not scared about the legal action though:

“If the company wants to seek legal action as mentioned in the letter, I’m ready to face it. In fact, I can’t wait to face it.”

Obviously, there was an error and he has definitive proof. And failing that, he can always give them a ouija and settle the matter directly with his dad. [MSNBC - Thanks Tech Luver]
