Dangerous Maker’s Faire Machines

We’re still sorting through the videos, and we’ve compiled a medley of all the dangerous Maker’s Faire exhibits. You know, anything involving fire, lightning bolts, and/or killer bots. And we’ve set it to a background track of Loverboy. Giz Hearts Maker’s Faire

11:51AM Seamus Byrne | That’s Lisa and yours truly at the Flickr/Yahoo! booth, where they’d take a polaroid and scan it using some custom ware on a Sharp photocopier directly to Flickr. And here’s my photo stream of 90 photos from the amazing and completely overwhelming Maker’s Faire. If you have the means, you HAVE to come by tomorrow. The weather is great here in San Mateo, and although most of the projects I’ve read about before, it really is incredible to see projects like the pong watch, electric sportbikes, steampunk remote controlled cars and tanks, those crazy coke and mentos dudes, Woz (yes Woz!), fire spitting sculptures, battle bots, among hundreds of amazing booths of stuff. Maker Faire Starts Tomorrow

The fair will be a weekend full of projects, demonstrations, entertainment and fun where the DIY’ers across the world come together to show off their goods. Maker Faire: Life-Size Mouse Trap Game

5:00AM Seamus Byrne | I'm not sure what the recent trend is, but everyone seems to be life-sizing my childhood. Remember the game Mousetrap? Yes, the game that was fun for 30 seconds, and not worth the effort and time it took to set it up. Someone has created a life-size replicate of the Mousetrap Rube Goldberg machine. Rather than dropping the cage on the mouse and cheese, like in the original, this monstrous version will drop a safe on any object of your choosing (to crush and destroy).
