First quarter results are in for TiVo, and they’re not great: revenue is down 9% from the same quarter last year, forcing the company to report a hefty loss just a few months after recording their first year of profitability, ever.
Panasonic, the last sacred bastion of plasma TVs, is down $US4 billion for the year. Analysts thought it might lose a billion dollars. Other Japanese companies who’ve lost a bundle this year: Hitachi dropped $US8 billion into a black hole, NEC bled out $US3 billion, making Sony’s $US1 billion negative look positively awesome. [CNN]
Microsoft announced today that its quarterly revenue and earnings per share dropped in the quarter ending March 31st. It’s the first time in Microsoft’s history that they’ve failed to turn a profit.
