There are currently only two 3D phones in Australia: the HTC EVO 3D and the LG Optimus 3D. Both were announced for the Australian market at about the same time, but our hands-on time has revealed that one trumps the other in specs and usability.

Augmented Reality Is Now 3D On LG’s Optimus 3D Phone

LG’s pinched Layar’s idea and made it 3D, though I suppose Wikitude is partly to blame/thank too. They’re calling it the world’s first 3D AR browser, and while it’ll only be available on LG’s Optimus 3D phone for starters, expect it to roll out onto other 3D handsets later, once LG gets some more off the production lines.

You might have guessed that LG’s Optimus 3D smartphone would come bearing a steep price tag, but did you imagine it would be in the region of $US800? Dual-core processors and 3D cameras don’t come cheap, which is why UK online retailer Expansys has listed a £514.99 ($US835) price for it. Supposedly it hits shelves on April 25.
