Leica makes beautiful, very expensive cameras that work wonderfully. The M9-P is no exception: 18 megapixels, gorgeously retro. But if you buy this $US32,000 limited edition, you are a moron.
How will people know you’re wealthy enough to afford a Leica, if they can’t see the iconic red dot? I suppose those-in-the-know will assume its absence meant you spent $US1995 upgrading it to be like their new M9-P, which foregoes the red dot for photographers’ safety.
Leica is raising the bar on their highest-of-the-high-end M9 series just a little higher with their new M9-P full-frame rangefinder camera. With a subtler design and more durable body, it’s definitely going to be about as expensive as you’d expect.
