Hey guys. John Mayer here. You might have noticed I didn’t sing at the iPhone 3G launch. That probably disappointed you, since people like to hear the songs that I write, which is why I’m going on tour. So you can hear my songs. BlackBerry is sponsoring it, since I really like the Bold. Because when I’m not calling two people at once or writing songs for you to hear, I write emails. Sometimes they’re to myself with song ideas, for my songs. So, I have some BlackBerry tips for you.
Jesús has been doing a rash of John Mayer / Apple stories lately, for I don’t really know what reason, but you guys seem to care about it a lot more than I do. Here’s another: a Blackberry Bold, which is an interesting sign in terms of taste making and trendsetting by the guy who usually chooses all things Apple.

I just wanted to tell you that if you mention my name in your Mac OS X software crash report, it seems that there are real chances of you getting a direct reply from Apple Support, just like it happened to me. A Gizmodo reader did it and he got a reply straight away from the good people at Apple Support:
It looks like writing “John Mayer here” really works to get Apple’s attention when you report a problem. According to Steve Jobs’ fab guitarist, they got back to him directly only four days after he sent the bug report ramblings:
John Mayer is the guitarist who sometimes closes Apple events with a small gig (he comes right after you turn off the Quicktime broadcast to check the Apple Store,) and Steve Jobs’ favourite music poster boy this side of Bob Dylan. Last week, Mayer contacted Apple about a problem with iTunes using the bug reporting tool which appears after a crash. Having sent my own share of bug reports, from neutral to humorous to sarcastic to plain mad-I’m-going-to-kill-you-all-with-a-spoon, I find his diatribe rather charming and candid:
