Posted by Elaine Chow at 4:30 PM on December 18, 2008

On some level, I know that these minimalistic wireless speakers by Phillipe Starck are classy works of art. But when I look at them, all I can think about is Nuni and Nooni Schoener.

ZeptoPad 2.0 Whiteboard iPhone App Shows Live-Updating Web Interface, PDF Export

Posted by John Mahoney at 9:00 AM on November 26, 2008

It's just a demo right now, but Ryo Shimizu's ZeptoPad 2.0 whiteboard app looks pretty promising. We already love collaborative drawing apps like Netsketch, but Ryo's whiteboard adds a couple of interesting tweaks--the ability to watch the whiteboard live via a web interface or on what looks like a local client, and then save everything to PDF when you're finished. If collaborators are not limited to being on the same wi-fi network, which is how these apps often work, sign us up. Barring any Apple hold-ups (that's never happened, right?), ZeptoPad should hit the store next weekend. [Thanks, Ryo!]

Dogpile on Apple: New Lawsuit Adds Hairline Cracks to List of iPhone 3G Problems

Posted by Gizmodo US Edition at 10:45 AM on November 16, 2008

New Yorker Avi Koschitzki has tossed his own lawsuit in with the rising pile, accusing Apple and AT&T of the usual crimes (lousy 3G reception and speed, lackluster software updates) as well as a newbie: hairline cracks in the iPhone 3G's casing. We've reported on it before, but this is the first time it's showing up in a suit.

Judge Orders Apple's New iPod and iPhone Chief to Stop Work Immediately

Posted by Matt Buchanan at 1:20 AM on November 9, 2008

Mark Papermaster, a former IBM executive who's replacing retiring iPod chief Tony Fadell, came to Apple with some heavy baggage—namely a one-year no-compete clause that IBM said he was violating by working at Apple. U.S. District Judge Kenneth Karashas sided with IBM for the time being in their lawsuit, ordering Papermaster to "immediately cease his employment with Apple Inc. until further order of this court."

Wireless Wipes Rid Your Filthy Touchscreen Phone of Staphylococcus Aureus

Posted by Jack Loftus at 6:00 AM on November 3, 2008

If you, like me, do unnatural things with your iPhone, go pick up a 10-pack of Wireless Wipes. Why? Because touchscreens are apparently hotbeds of scum and villainy. And germs, which is what a British study discovered when it found they carry "tens of thousands of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus." Another study, conducted in Arizona, randomly tested 25 mobiles and found staph on nearly half of them. Staph, in case you didn't know, causes everything from pimples and boils, to pneumonia and meningitis, which explains the chronic headache and hallucinations I've had for the better part of the past week. Wireless Wipes cost $US2 for 10, are fast drying, non-streaking and—most importantly—non corrosive. [ChipChick]

BlackBerrys Get Free AT&T Wi-Fi Too

Posted by Matt Buchanan at 2:00 AM on October 31, 2008

AT&T apparently realised it was elitist to only let the iPhone get free Wi-Fi at its hotspots, so they're opening it up to BlackBerry handsets too. The Bold is getting it first, though all of their other Wi-Fi-havin' BlackBerrys will pick it up later this year. So, um, what about Windows Mobile guys? Smells like elitism to me.
