Last week I posed the question: Palm Pre or the new iPhone 3G? According to the results, 44% were planning to get the new iPhone 3GS.
They’re late in coming, but the iPhone 3GS’s Voice Control commands, which support calling, music playback, and other device functions, look fantastic, assuming they work as advertised.
As expected, the new Apple iPhone 3GS is out. And we were right: These screens and iPhone were real. Our hands-on is here. All the details about the iPhone 3GS’ new features are after the jump (still updating):
Here’s a cool new feature for iPhone 3.0 for MobileMe customers: Find My iPhone. It’ll let you send a “I’m lost!” message to your phone or wipe it remotely if you need to.
The iPhone 3.0 software will be available worldwide on June 17th (today for developers). It will be free for iPhone owners and $US9.95 for Touch. There are also some new features unveiled at WWDC.
AU: The local press release reckons that the iPhone 3.0 software will be available in Australia from June 26, the same day as the new iPhone launches.
John Gruber of Daring Fireball, certainly no stranger on this site to iPhone news, rumours and speculation, is positive tomorrow’s event will feature an “iPhone 3GS”.
In case you still had any doubts, here’s the definitive proof: The screenshot of the videoconferencing iPhone is just a doctored screen which uses the bottom menu of the Skype application (Skype icon conveniently obscured by the lamesite’s watermark).
Most of the rumours and speculation say that there wasn’t going to be video-conferencing in the new iPhone 3G 2009. However, a last-minute batch of images point to the contrary. Or do they? Update
From the same source as this possible leak comes a few shots of what could be iPhone video chat. The light source looks off, but supposing it’s real, notice it’s on Wi-Fi, not 3G, like Skype and SlingPlayer.
These shots of a matte black iPhone from Nowhereelse.fr match up to the rumours we’ve heard so far about a future iPhone, but who knows if it’s real.
