Apple recently decided to kick HyperMac – and its delightful external MacBook batteries – out of the clubhouse for selling patent-infringing MagSafe cables. Fortunately, life finds a way. Or at least, computing peripherals do. Meet Magic Box.
HyperMac, suppliers of Apple-related battery products, pissed off the Cupertino Goliath awhile back for selling modified MacBook Magsafe cables with their external batteries. After taking those cables off the market, they’ve returned with two new ways to power up.
At midnight tonight, HyperMac will shutter shop and re-open as HyperJuice “in the coming weeks”. This is, of course, due to Apple getting all legal on their use of patent-defying MagSafe connectors, but HyperMac is hopeful something can be arranged.

From the good folks who make the power-in-a-pinch HyperMac batteries, the HyperDrive is a hard drive that connects directly to your iPad. It has a touchscreen, can read 12 types of memory cards and has capacities reaching 750GB.
Those looking to minimise desk clutter will be pleased with HyperShop’s entrant to the iPad stand rodeo, offering a built-in rechargeable lithium ion battery for 16 hours of extra life.

HyperMac, our favourite brand of precious-extra-juice-giving external battery, has updated their line to offer 10W USB charging of the iPad. The four capacities will give your tablet a total run time ranging from 34 to 99 hours. Yes, that’ll do.
Batteries are usually just a boring, blunt necessity on account of being batteries and all. But HyperMac’s new line of Apple-friendly lithium-ion battery packs are a colourful exception to the rule. Plus: battery babes!
