Inside the JVC GX-PX1′s gigantic barrel and thin, slim body is a promising camera and camcorder hybrid. There’s a 10x optical zoom, 10MP camera, 1080/60p HD video recording at up to 36Mbps, and can shoot at 60fps at 5.7MP.
Panasonic’s FZ100, the company’s first hybrid super zoom with an MOS image sensor, can handle action even if it’s happening fast, furious or far away; it has 24x optical zoom, captures 1080p video and shoots full 14.1MP shots at 11fps.
However strange it seemed for Samsung to launch a new camera category with the NX10 hybrid DSLR – which puts a DSLR-sized sensor in a smaller body – they’re sticking with it. Hence the NX5: a cheaper, slightly less capable NX10.
