T-Mobile’s not quite ready to put it’s full support behind the 4G mobile broadband infrastructure. Instead, they want to take the current 3G HSPA standard they’re using, and make it as fast as 4G, reaching speeds of 650Mbps.
The next T-Mobile myTouch, which looks to be a fine phone as T-Mobile’s first video-chatting Android phone, is being re-branded as the myTouch 4G. But it’s not really 4G. And it’s pretty lame of them to call it that.
So it’s a quandary. Your house is in a service dead zone, and you don’t want to shell out hundreds more for something you’re paying for already. What’s worth more, principle or a functioning phone? That decision might be over.

T-Mobile is putting out a new version of its HSPA+ capable WebConnect Rocket 2.0 USB Laptop Stick. It doesn’t appear to be terribly different from the prior generation except that it’s sleek, speedy and has a swivelling USB form factor.
ACMA today announced that they’ve given Optus first dibs on some extra 2100MHz spectrum for 972 sites across regional Australia. That means better 3G service in the country… Who can argue with that?
