By jumping ship to AMD Fusion guts for their Pavilion dm1 laptop, HP is in the vanguard of manufacturers turning out netbook-sized PCs with full notebook performance. That means 1080p video and DirectX 11 graphics on an 11.6-inch machine.
HP’s got plenty of products out there using their TouchSmart software, but now it’s finally hit their consumer-focused line of notebooks with the Pavilion dv6. It’s also part of a broader, metal makeover for the Pavilion line.
Details are sparse at the moment, but something is happening in India. Something wand-like and prone to waggling. Called the Swing, it’s a motion controller HP cooked up for their Pavilion PC desktops.
A pretty legitimate-looking rough-draft of HP’s Winter 2009/2010 catalogue has leaked out, and seems to confirm a bunch of new Windows 7 laptops that aren’t yet official. One surprise, though: the Pavilion dv3 with multi-finger TouchSmart screen.
