As stylish as the new, slimmer Xbox 360 is, all Xbox 360 fans really want is something to play Halo on. And if it looks like Halo, all the better.
After discovering video games, I didn’t really keep up with my old friend Nerf. But last night, I got to shoot (and get shot by) the Stampede, a new, fully automatic Nerf rifle with a tripod and replaceable magazines. What!?
I’m sure that Halo assault rifle you mocked up for Halloween 2004 was nice and all. But unless it’s also a fully functional Nerf gun that holds three magazines and “a bunch” of darts, you lose. Here’s the video proof.
And yet only one of them looks like this. To celebrate the fact that Microsoft has sold over a million Xbox 360 consoles in Australia and New Zealand since launch, they’ve paired up with a heap of celebrities to auction off individualised and signed custom 360s for the David Peachey foundation.
Rumours persist that Microsoft hasn’t given up on making a film based on its multi-million-selling Halo franchise, with Spielberg tipped as being down for producing it. I’d like to see one made; but then we’ve always got District 9. [Kotaku]
Helloooo, sad people still clinging to Halo 2 on your original Xbox. As you know, Xbox Live for the OG Xbox is being turned off in six short weeks. Microsoft feels bad kinda about it! So they’re giving you 400 Xbox Live points and three free months of Xbox Live to join the rest of us here in the present. And! And a Halo: Reach Beta invite. That’s right, we have Halo in the present, too. [Xbox via Engadget]
Buried at the bottom of Samsung’s MWC press kit was mention of an I8520 “Halo” phone. Sporting Android 2.1, a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, and 720p video (to name a few), the phone will be officially revealed tomorrow.
Nestled in the leaked Android 2.1 ROM, 20 new devices are mentioned by name—including those we knew of already (Dragon, Dream, Hero and Passion) but some new friends too, Bahamas, Bravo, DesireC, Espresso, Halo, HeroCT, HeroC, Huangshan, Incredible, Legend, Liberty, Memphis, Paradise, PassionC, Sapphire and Supersonic. Phew. [AndroidSpin via BGR]
