1:20AM Mark Wilson | Using the Aerogarden to grow plants without soil is by all means a neat idea, but the product isn’t exactly urban chic. We like this concept more. More »

Greenhouse Headphones For the ‘An Angel and Devil Crashed Into My Ears’ Look
10:45PM Kit Eaton | Okay, these headphones from Greenhouse are pretty similar to the weirdo pig ones from a few months ago… but they’re worth it simply because I like the idea of having a mini model Angel and Devil pushed into your ears instead of boring old normal headphones. They’ve got a 5mW output, 20Hz to 20kHz response and are out in Japan in five different colour combos for about $US10. [NewLaunches] More »

Greenhouse’s New Headphones, For the ‘Pig Crashed Through Your Brain’ Look
6:41PM Gizmodo US Edition | This strange product from Greenhouse is worth talking about, if only so I could share that headline with you. In case you’re wondering, the pig is in soft silicon… to reproduce the texture of a real pig. After that news, you won’t care these weird ‘phones have a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency range, multi-sized silicon earbuds and 89cm cable with a gold-plated plug. The GC-ERC-PIG’s are available soon in pink black or white for just US$11, but that’s in Japan, pigheadphone fans. [AV Watch] More »

British Farmers to Build Giant, Artificial, 220-Acre Farm Under Glass
11:09AM Adrian Covert | Apparently inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s push for domed cities, farmers in Kent, England are building a 220-acre series of connected greenhouses, where nothing will be grown in soil. Instead, nutrient-packed water will be used to grow 1.3 million plants hydroponically. The 7 greenhouses will increase the UK’s green vegetable supply 15%, and the green houses will be self sufficient during the dry season by collecting rainwater from October-April. No word on whether Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin will be allowed inside. [UK Guardian via Jaunted via io9] More »
