The first development to get the FTTH network, which will be available at either 25Mbps, 50Mbps or 100Mbps is Fernbrooke estate, located 32km south-west of the Brisbane CBD. They’re also planning a couple of estates for South Australia as well.

Internode reckons that the 25Mbps connections will start at $50 a month, while the 100Mbps will start at under $100 a month. Considering many of us pay over $100 a month for ADSL2+ speeds, the propspect of lightning fast internet really does leave us salivating. I’d even consider moving to Queensland for it… Okay, that’s a lie, but I still want it at my home now.
