Posted by Sean Fallon at 9:30 AM on December 27, 2008

The enthusiastically titled "Fan-Tastic Chandel-Air" by Meyda lighting combines, you guessed it, a chandelier and a fan into one crazy looking customisable design.

Xbox 360 Ultrafan Plays Inside a Furry Green Version of an Xbox 360

Posted by Jesus Diaz at 1:20 AM on December 12, 2008

Giz's Xbox-fanboy Matt B. got excited watching this other fan's Xbox 360-themed den. I just got freaked out with the green LEDs, green fur, and green heavy breath. [poetv via Offworld via Kotaku]

Chinavasion Webcam-Fan-In-One Will Blow You Away

Posted by Elaine Chow at 1:00 PM on November 13, 2008

Every webcam girl worth her salt knows that there's nothing sexier than the "oh my, is there a breeze in here causing my hair to be all windswept" look, which makes this new accessory from Chinavision absolutely genius. It's a 1.3mp webcam and fan, with both pieces mounted on separate adjustable arms. And in case you need more lighting to really make it seem like you're starring in your own 90s girl group music video, it comes with two extra white LED lights as well. No listed price, but Chinavision offers a discount if you buy it in bulk. [Chinavasion]

Sweater Dryer or 8-Pack Alien Colonic?

Posted by Mark Wilson at 12:00 AM on November 5, 2008

The clothing in the shot gives it away, but if we were to see the Sweater Dryer with Fan in another context, we might think it a...well we don't really know what we'd think it was. Heck, even in this shot, we assume the device is blowing air at that sweater. For all we know, the Sweater Dryer with Fan (with an out of this world promise to dry clothing 75% faster than hanging) is really imbuing the garment with a latent forcefield, waiting for the day it's activated by green invaders who will freeze us alive in our J Crew sale items. Mouse With Cooling Fan, LED Message Scroller is Wonderful, Actually

Posted by Kit Eaton at 6:36 PM on October 23, 2008

My first thoughts on seeing this USB mouse with in-built fan-powered palm cooler and rotary LED message scroller: "Holy moly that's one craptaculous bit of gadgetry!" But then I reconsidered. First, who wouldn't like a less sweaty palm when mousing for protracted periods? And second, that message scroller (which even has its own remote control) could carry some incredibly useful phrases. "Mum...Don't Turn on The Monitor. AT ALL"...life-saving stuff like that. Wonderful, and yours in green or red for $US35. [Gadget4All]

LED Sports Fan Sign Proves That You Are the Biggest Fan Ever

Posted by Adam Frucci at 5:30 AM on October 4, 2008

Attention, sports fans! Are you looking to show your extreme dedication to your favourite team without submitting your body to the discomfort of painting up and going shirtless to a December game in Green Bay? Are you looking for a sign of your fandom that will never, ever make it through airport security and may not make it through stadium security either? Well, say hello to the LED sports fan sign! Although I don't see why it wouldn't work in other, non-sporting events. I think I'll make an "O'Biden" sign for the next presidential debate. Thoughts? [Make]

Thanko's Cooling Fan Keyboard Cools Your Over-Heated Wrists

Posted by Kit Eaton at 12:40 AM on July 26, 2008

Bless those guys at Thanko—they've been wondering what else to apply fan-cooling tech to, and have come up with this keyboard that cools something you never thought needed it: your wrists. The gizmo has three fans built into the wrist-rest area of a standard USB keyboard, ready to puff sweet air at your sweaty wrists at the flick of a switch. Bizarre. And if you want one, you'd better have really hot, sweaty arms indeed 'cause this thing takes up two USB ports. It looks pretty sturdy, mind you, and is out in Japan for about US$62. Flex Mini from cRadia Is Smallest Ever Portable Laptop Fan

Posted by Gizmodo US Edition at 12:00 AM on June 17, 2008

cRadia's portable laptop fan could be the perfect on-the-go solution for penis burn, something I have written about frequently on the Giz, despite never suffering from it. The Flex Mini is designed for any laptop between ten and 20 inches, and packs up into a small-ish little package for you to cart about in your manbag, or whatever it is you use to get your gear from A to B. What I like most about it is what it looks like when it's ready to use.

Old Printers, Scanners and Hard Drives Used to Perform Radiohead's 'Nude'

Posted by Adrian Covert at 9:10 AM on June 6, 2008

Most people just create amusing videos to fit their favourite songs, but James Houston went one step further and synchronized a bunch of obsolete gadget noises to recreate Radiohead's "Nude." A Sinclair ZX Spectrum 8-bit PC was used for rhythm and lead guitars, an HP Scanjet 3c was used for bass guitar, an Epson LX-81 Dot Matrix Printer was used for drums, and an array of hard drives were used as bad speakers to distort and reproduce vocals and effects.

MacHEADS: The Movie (The Interview)

Posted by Mark Wilson at 1:00 AM on May 27, 2008

Kobi Shely and his brother Ron are obsessed with Apple, but they don't camp out in line for the latest "i" product. Where as most Apple followers are excited by iMacs, iPhones or even the occasional Newton, Kobi and Ron are more fans of the fanboys— intrigued by the "Macheads." MacHEADS: The Movie is their half-funny, half-disturbing documentary on the subject a year and a half in the making. Just last week, they put the final touches on the film to ready it for distribution.
