When I covered Exetel and Internode’s NBN pricing last week, I mentioned that the ACCC has warned advertised NBN speeds must be what the customer actually gets. But Internode’s higher prices had some wondering if its network will be stronger somehow. Exetel CEO, John Linton, rejects that notion outright, blogging that “every end user customer connected to the NBN Co network will have the identical experience.” More »

A big week for broadband fans – following TPG’s announcement that they’re planning an unlimited ADSL2+ service, Exetel has announced that they’ll also be offering unlimited broadband – but only to “loyal Exetel customers”. More »
Yesterday afternoon at the Kickstart Forum up in Queensland, there was a bit of a panel discussion about the government’s IT policy over the past 12 months. You know, NBN, Internet Filter, structural separation of Telstra… All those things that mean we get to have a “Conroy” tag. On the panel were (among others) Senator Scott Ludlam from the Greens and Exetel chief John Linton, who thought the discussion would be a perfect opportunity to call all Labor voters “stupid” and argue that gamers have no life.
