Eizo C@T-One Two-Faced Device is TV-Remote and PC-Mouse in One

7:31PM Kit Eaton | The Eizo C@t-one is a curious product: one side is a regular wireless optical three-button mouse with scroll wheel, and the other is a basic 9-function TV remote. It’s a 2.4GHz device, with a small USB dongle, and is designed to work with Nanao TVs, as well as third-party TVs, videos and tuners, and it looks like it’ll work as a PC controller too, for media-centre action. Curious, but probably very useful if you’ve got your PC hooked up to your TV, and it may also stir some memories for fans of Apple’s old round mouse. Available in Japan for around US$118. Flexscan LCD Monitor for the Colour-Blind Is 24 Inches

8:31PM Addy Dugdale | Eizo has brought out the SX2461W-U, a 24-inch monitor aimed at the colour-blind. It’s got 1920 x 1200 resolution, and a contrast ratio of 850:1 and brightness of 300 cd/m2. Rather like their previous 19-incher, the Eizo uses Color Universal Design (CUD) technology, which uses different colour schemes and shapes to enable the daltonic to distinguish between colors. Eizo SX3031W-H Display Joins the 30-Inch Club

9:52PM Charlie White | The 30-inch ultra-high-rez (2560×1600) monitor derby heats up even more now with Eizo jumping in with its SX3031W-H display, to be released first in Japan December 19th and maybe even making its way to US shores before too long. If so, it’ll have to compete against 30-inchers at that same resolution from Apple ($1,799), Dell ($1,274), HP ($1400) and that whopper we showed you from Gateway ($1,700) a couple of weeks ago. Eizo is a bit modest with its refresh rate spec, quoting 14ms just like Apple does, compared to 11ms for Dell, and HP’s boast of 8ms. Those refresh rate specs are usually bullshit and rife with weasel words, anyway, so you’ll have to use your own eyeballs to see which one is better. One thing’s for sure, this Eizo display’s prices lag behind the diminishing trend, initially quoted at a hefty $2555 out of the gate. Ouch.
