Remember last year when we told you about Juno interactive, the IPTV company launched by former NineMSN and former Yahoo!7 media kingpins Jimmy Storrier and David Morrison? Well their project Juno has had a name change and gone into a limited Beta for Sydneysiders. Now called Beem, it’s an online DVR for FTA TV with an emphasis on social networking.
According to Gary over at Cnet, the Australian Tivo is about to get a price drop. A huge price drop even, taking the DVR from $699 to $499 and throwing in bonus free stuff.

You could already schedule new recordings and set up season passes on your TiVo from a browser, but now you can actually manage those season passes without having to trudge through TiVo’s onscreen menus.
You already had some music choices with TiVo Premiere – Rhapsody and Music Choice have been available for some time – but now Pandora’s joined the party. Sad news, though, for those of you clinging to your prior-generation TiVos: this app’s for Premiere only.
