In my household of two, I buy a bag of groceries at a time. Instead of taking up my kitchen with a huge refrigerator filled with moulding leftovers, I prefer the idea something smaller.
A sink-in-a-drawer is a great idea, right up to the point when you realise what a bad idea it is. Sure, you know, makeshift loft studio in lower Manhattan, no room for toilet and sink in the bathroom—why not put it in a drawer, and slide it away when you’re destined for the throne? But by now you already know the catch: Unless you have a nice little space-time fabric rip, you’re going to be taking up floor space in the room adjacent to the bathroom, maybe a kitchen or a closet where small amounts of room are more cherished. While we’re rarely captivated by drawers here on Giz, Fractal 23 is more than worthy to take a place next to USB fart warmers and the like. Because by properly staggering 23 drawers of varying sizes, Takeshi Miyakawa has made use of every inch inside this cube…the hard way. My IKEA dresser is more than a little jealous; it’s turned to booze with my old Wal-mart patio set that hangs in the garage. Here’s a bonus shot:
