After focusing on the PayPal, VISA, MasterCard and Amazon websites, the members of 4chan-affiliated group Anonymous have decided to pick a new target for an unorthodox DDoS attack: fax machines belonging to corporations which they believe are against WikiLeaks’ mission.
A Dutch 16-year-old (and LOIC gunner) has been detained in the Netherlands for his connection to the pro-WikiLeaks takedowns of MasterCard, Visa and PayPal. The teen is currently undergoing interrogation by the Dutch High Tech Crime Team.
WikiLeaks’ powerful allies have declared war against Amazon.com, after already ticking PayPal, Visa and Mastercard off their lists this week. Given WikiLeaks was booted from Amazon’s servers last week, it’s not surprising the site has been thrown in the stocks.
