You know recession has reached a new low level when two Italian plumbers from Brooklyn go to Staten Island to beat a cabbie and steal his cash. Which is more or less what happened at a petrol station last Halloween.

The two guys, dressed as Mario and Luigi, were in a taxi with two other individuals at around 4am. It was then when one of the passengers tried to get his hand into the driver’s pocket, who stopped in a petrol station at 863 Arthur Kill Road in Great Kills, and asked them to pay and leave.

At that point Mario and Luigi got out of the car and started to beat the cabbie, perhaps thinking that gold coins were going to jump out of him. Idiots. Everybody knows that only works with bouncy brick blocks.
Come on, Señor Damon. A censored pixelated penis. Did I say that there was no need to look like a dork or a slut to enjoy Halloween? I was wrong.

Matt, we bow before your creativity, sir. Just not too much. [Thanks for the photo, Ryan]

Ever since I saw the breathalyser costume a few years ago, I knew it was only a matter of time before some frat boy was busted for drunk-driving wearing one. That day has arrived.

According to a police report, 18-year-old James N. P. Miller, of Cincinnati, was seen driving the wrong way out of the entrance to a one-way street at East Park Place in Oxford.

Officers executed a traffic stop and found that Miller was wearing a breathalyser costume [I assume they laughed their asses off]. After investigation, police said, Miller was found to be operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Inside his car, officers allegedly found an open container of Bud Light in the centre console.

Officers also found what was left of a case of Bud Light in the passenger side front seat and in the trunk.

The legal limit in Ohio is .08 BAC — Miller tested at .158. He was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (among other violations) and released to his girlfriend. Hopefully, she realises that there isn’t much of a future being with the “blow here” breathalyser mug shot guy. The geometric look uses 370 individual paper triangles, and here’s how he did it…

The first step was to model his face in 3D Studio Max. After overlaying a wireframe, he added textures in Mudbox 2010 and Photoshop CS3, before using software called Pepakura to break the model up into printable sections. The effect is pretty impressive, and thankfully, he’s posted a full run-down on the process:

The costume uses an Arduino system connected to an Adafruit WaveShield. Sensors trigger the sound with different moves. It only needs a soundtrack, but you can always do it with your mouth, which is how I go around in life: Singing the Super Mario theme, dressed on my Mario raccoon suit. It doesn’t make any sound, but I can fly with it.
That ghostbuster costume—which includes a flight suit, Arduino-controlled proton pack, fake trap, and fake goggles—was all made over months of planning and hard work.

My Wolverine costume—battered leather jacket, t-shirt, jeans, dirty just-woke-up hair, scars, and some beard trimming—took an entire life of suffering and bleeding to create.

(By the way, anyone knows where I could buy the actual Wolverine jacket replica in NYC?
