After playing a little too much Viva Piñata, somebody at Sony decided to start mashing together random, seemingly incompatible product lines. The resulting mutation was the Hana, a standing lamp that also includes an MP3 player and full-length speakers. I guess they’re targeting the “music lover who hates to listen in the dark and is too lazy to use more than one device at a time” market? No word on pricing, availability or Sony’s plans to conquer the lucrative lamp market yet. [Sony Hana Lamp via plasticbamboo]
Designer Jin Woo Han figured if you want both a digital camera and a digital picture frame, why not put them together and display the pictures with the same device you used to capture them? In this design concept Han calls the Samsung SS 700, he determined a happy medium size where the point-and-shoot camera is not too large and the picture frame isn’t too small. galleryPost('camframe', 4, 'Camframe Design');
Realizing that surfers were way too cool for their own good, designer Marco Torres has designed a surfboard with the geek built in: GPS and radio. The concept is for separated surfers to locate one another with ease through two-way communication and a large onboard display (that we’re guessing could point you to your partner), while keeping riders apprised to changes in currents and weather through constant updates and weather alerts.

Why take up all that room in your garage for a lawnmower, leaf collector and snow blower when you can have this three-in-one device that handles all three tasks and only requires a third of the space? Oh, wait. You can’t have this device because it’s just a concept, but its modular design by Gustav Lamberg looks like a good idea, taking care of all of your internal combustion duties with just one noisemaking smoke-belching contraption instead of three.
There’s not much explanation offered with these 3D renderings, but it appears that you attach a different front assembly for each of the three tasks. However, for a lot of the snowfall we see out here in the frozen tundra, that snow blower is not going to be quite tall enough. As a leaf collector, the device is going to need some sort of receptacle, too.
If he takes care of those small details, all Gustav has to do is add solar power, an electric motor with a long-lasting battery and robotic capabilities, and he’ll be on to something here.

Hey, look, a dumb idea! The Hanwang (LOL) Two-in-One Tablet Mouse combines a small, nearly useless tablet and a big, awkward mouse. Fortunately, this is a product too poorly thought out to make it to American shores. It’s instead doomed to a life of dust-gathering on Far East electronics store shelves, otherwise known as where bad ideas go to die. Try harder next time, Hanwang. –Adam Frucci
It may be a bit of an oxymoron, but home theater junkies can be lazy as hell too. Sure, they will dump thousands of dollars into a system, but who wants to actually set it up? That is where this projector steps in. This red rocket has an DVD player built directly into it. It isn’t the complete lazy-man’s dream because speakers would still need to be hooked up, but it could provide a fairly nice, clean-cut ceiling install. Epson also makes a similar projector, but it isn’t as pretty as this red dandy. –Travis Hudson
It’s a strange phenomenon, we talked about the HTC X7500 for so long that it felt like the real product could never actually exist. But Boy Genius Report got their well-manicured fingers on a real model and stripped it down slow tease style for us all to enjoy.
