Nippon Signal Mini Projector Could Fit Into Your Shirt Pocket

4:00AM August 3, 2008 | Gizmodo US Edition

Nippon Signal has revealed its new entrant into the colour projector size war, showing off a SVGA 800 x 600 resolution colour projector that’s roughly the size of a cigarette case at a recent micromachines exhibition. The prototype, which measures a tiny 90 x 55 x 20mm, uses a MEMS scanner to project images, rather than the more traditional LED.

Sigma DP1 First Grope

11:00AM March 2, 2008 | Haroon Malik

The guys at Pop Photo have managed to get their hands all over the much-hyped Sigma DP1. Apparently, the DP1 has a build quality comparable to the solid Canon PowerShot G9, and the mega sensor monster does away with any fuss with regards to shooting options; you’ll find Manual, Auto, Aperture-priority, Program, and Shutter-priority modes for image capture, as well as QVGA video mode (320 x 240 @ 30fps) and an audio capture mode, but beyond that, there are absolutely no ludicrous scene selections to choose from. The chaps at Pop Photo found this a refreshing turn to minimalism, and we would have to agree. All in all, the hype is looking to be well founded. Checkout the full tear down by hitting the link. MIT Designs Electro-Scooter That Folds Up into Tiny, Wheeled Package

3:10AM November 29, 2007 | Charlie White

Those eggheads at the Smart Cities group at MIT are a clever bunch, coming up with a design concept for an electric scooter that folds up into a package scarcely larger than a wheeled carry-on suitcase. In the Utopian vision for such bikes, you’d ride one to work, then fold it up and roll it right into the office, where it will take up very little space. But wait. This idea gets even more appealing: More »

9:35PM November 28, 2007 | Addy Dugdale

Teresonic has brought out the Magus, a pair of compact, mid-range speakers, whose curved sides are a nod to classical instruments. “Have you ever wondered why there are no square violins, trumpets, or acoustic guitars?” says the president of Teresonic, Mike Zivkovic. “So why do they make square speakers?” More »

Pentax Optio V10 Slim Camera

10:35AM October 2, 2007 | Brian Lam

The other pentax launched today is this 8mp slim that is about 2cm thick. Not bad, but a quick google shows that Sony’s had thinner Cybershots, even if at lower MP ratings. (Not sure if that’s counting the big lens cover slides that most T series cams have.) The back has a 3-inch LCD. More »
