This one houses a complete library of NES games, uses the original buttons, and hides inside the Super Mario/Duck Hunt combo cartridge. But wait, there’s more:

There’s also an mp3 player, movie player and an FM radio receiver. The video out is also intact, meaning this little guy can be used to play on the big screen.

Games in action below:

To answer your question, yes, this mod is very similar to one we’ve featured before. This one is cleaner, boasts more features, and plays Game Boy games too, so it gets the nod today. Nice work.

Oh, and the answer to the headline question, by the way, is unicorns. They would exist. [Ben Heck Forums via technabob]

There’s a painstaking amount of detail inside the scene, including intricate housewares such as a vase, flowers, the newspaper and a gumball machine (?!). Anyone with this much time on their hands must also spend hours thinking of the perfect way to get away with murder.

Have you ever looked at a custom-built PC and been overcome with unnatural feelings of lust? Either had I, but that was before I laid eyes on the Cygnus X1, a custom made case designed and built entirely by the hands of Overclockers Australia forum member oldnewby. Now, I’m scouring the internet trying to find tips on how to seduce aluminium. The entire build process is detailed in amazingly clear, crisp photographs over at OCAU, from start to finish. Well, not quite finish – it’s still being worked on. But the overall design has been completed, and dear God it is a stunning piece of work.

But don’t get your hopes up about owning it – despite the fact that oldnewby claims he’s not planning on selling it, even if he was, according to a forum poster he’s already been offered $US10,000. And you can’t top that.

Head over to OCAU to check the entire build, plus all the specs and hardware details.

[OCAU- Thanks Joel!]

By custom cutting a stainless steel trash can, R2 had his base. Now he just needed some detail work. So the modder dremeled like a mad man before adding wooden legs, LEDs and Vikureen polystyrene plating to complete the look. Where the plastic plating would not bend properly, you can see (upon close inspection) that it was merely sliced into strips.

Oh, and just in case you always wondered. R2D2 runs on a P4 2.8GHz with 768MB of RAM and 64MB GeForce MX400 graphics. [bit-tech]

I don’t know how well this “Sting” casemod works as an actual PC (if it works at all), but it sure does look purdy—and menacing.
