The Aussie dollar is kicking butt at the moment, and plenty of geeks are taking advantage by buying stuff overseas. That said, sometimes the best deals are still available down at your local Big W. So we want to know – where do you buy your DVDs and Blu-ray movies?
The problem with most Blu-ray discs is that it can be a pain in the backside to rip them and convert them to a file size you can watch on your phone. Some studios address this by sticking a digital copy in the box. Others bundle a DVD copy in there as well. If you like musicals, 20th Century Fox is now offering the trifecta – Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy all for $30 in their “Musicals that play anywhere” collection.
UK Inception fans will be treated to one of the best Blu-ray packages I’ve ever seen, come December 6th. Available for pre-order now, the film is on Blu-ray and DVD, plus there’s a digital copy and heaps of special features.
We already knew that a special edition of the upcoming Dark Knight Blu-ray release was going to drop alongside the standard version on December 9th, but the first images have only just leaked out from TheHDRoom. Outside of the case, both versions are identical—so I find it hard to justify spending $US65 on this thing (the standard version is currently on pre-order for $US25). But then again, I’m cheap like that.
