EMI global catalogue chief Ernesto Schmitt confirms to the Financial Times what we suspected at the Rolling Stones-inflected iPod event: The Beatles won’t be making their grand iTunes Music Store debut tomorrow.
The two biggest stories today (so far) have been Sony’s announcement of a new Slim PS3, and the official word that the Beatles back catalogue has been digitally remastered and will be released on CD next month. Both are very exciting on their own, but imagine if you could combine the two into one super-mega story. Like perhaps an announcement that EA is planning to release Singstar: The Beatles.
Famed Beatles producer and founding member of the Horrible Mugshot Hall of Fame Phil Spector is beginning to serve his 19-year prison sentence for murder, and made a specific request to help him pass the time: An iPod.
