Yet two of them just popped up on eBay.

Created by Atari founders and all-around gaming legends Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney, Computer Space came out in November of 1971, a full year before Pong hit the streets. The gameplay seems like sort of a mix of Asteroids and Space Invaders, with a rotational thruster (that phrase will never cease to sound filthy) controlling a rocketship (it’s just getting dirtier) trying to take down a UFO (well, if a UFO is a euphamism, I don’t want to know what it’s referring to).

There’s a green and a yellow version for sale, and the price is currently hovering around $US1500 and $US2500, respectively, but it’s kind of an awesome-looking piece of furniture even if you’re not into classic gaming. If you like those uncomfortable egg-chairs, this’ll fit right in with your aesthetic. While it will cost you $US4000, the arcade cabinet hides a sixtel, or 1/6 scale keg, that’s kept icy cold for your consumption.

The Arkteg features a 24-inch 1080i LCD that’s powered by a Dell GX260 SFF—a bargain bin PC that can handle any MAMEing you have in mind. With the PC core, you score extras like Wi-Fi, DVD playback and karaoke, along with support for multiple brands of romz. (69 licensed games including Mortal Kombat II and Centipede come preloaded.)

The keyboard stows away while HAPP buttons and joysticks along with a Betson-Imperial 3-inch ball sit framed by a laser-cut aluminium panel.

On the beer side, the Arkeg stores 5 gallons of brew along with a 5lb CO2 bottle. Everything’s kept cool with near-silent Solid-state Thermoelectric Cooling System.

Is it worth $US4000? Probably not. But Dream Arcades drinking-and-driving-friendly Octane will run you almost double. [Arkeg]

Whether it’s convenience of quality of games, people just aren’t going. But what if it came to YOU?

Games2U puts PS3s, Wii and Xbox 360 games inside of a van and delivers it, letting 20 people play no matter where you are. We can imagine it being useful for kids’ birthday parties, tailgating parties or funerals; especially since the company also offers laser tag and giant hamster balls.

And if you think this is a good and viable business opportunity, they even offer franchise options to set one up where you live. [G2u via Kotaku]

You pay the cash for a redeemable code, and then you use said code on your 360. We were hoping that Amazon might shave a bit off the purchase price (as they do with LIVE Gold subscriptions), but sadly, such is not the case. Then again, Amazon should make it a lot easier for friends/family to buy you digital games, which is a nice perk.
