Just a day after Amazon was slapped with a lawsuit by Apple, the app store MiKandi (which is brimming with porn and other “adult” apps) has received a cease-and-desist letter from Apple. MiKandi’s a pretty small operation, so are understandably worried about taking on Apple’s legal might.
Wake up sleepyhead, it’s now March – and that means it’s time for the rival Android app store, as boasted about by a mobile ad network, Millennial Media, on Twitter just now. Their tweet read: “Launching this month! Amazon Appstore for #Android-learn more here”, and then included a link to a blogpost for developers.

Apple recently surpassed the 10 Billion app download mark, but it took them 2.5 years or so to get there. According to Gartner, that number will be dwarfed with about 17.7 billion apps to be downloaded in this year alone.
Not exactly surprising, but there you have it – the 1000 apps on the Mac App Store were downloaded one million times in the first day. The most popular? Another non-surprise: Angry Birds.
