While all the major phone manufacturers are making their mobile announcements over in Barcelona, Aussie gadget maker Millennius is making its own announcements closer to home. They’ve just announced a new Apanda Android smartphone, this time with a 1GHz processor and runnig Froyo, plus a shiny new 9.7-inch SmartQ tablet.
The great, unwritten promise of Android is the availability of low cost handsets with the same powerful operating system as expensive smartphones. But up until now, those handsets have been few and far between. The Millennius Apanda is an unlocked, $459 HSPA handset running Android 2.1 – so why is it so cheap?
