Not to be left out from the copycat networks making shows about Silicon Valley, Amazon Studios is producing a half-hour comedy series called Betas. It’s centered around four nerds “and their quest for nerd fame as they attempt to crack the ultimate code.” One of these shows has to be good, right?

Now Amazon Is Planning To Make Original TV Content

Rumours have been floating around for the past couple of months that Amazon was looking to produce sitcoms and children’s television. Now All Things D is confirming it: Amazon is looking to pay $US10,000 to option scripts and $US55,000 if a show is greenlit.

Amazon Will Buy Your Movie Script For $US200k If They Like It

This is pretty bizarre, but when you consider the support they give writers on their Kindle program, it makes more sense. Would-be screenwriters can submit scripts to Amazon, which will buy the rights for $US200,000 if they like it.
