Slime Turns Into Sex Toy, Childhood Memories Shattered Forever

Remember that classic “toy” slime that came in a little garbage can? Ever use it to have sex? Yeah, um… me neither. Anyway, it turned 30 years old this month. To celebrate, Japan’s Mega Store is releasing an updated line of products called Adult Slime. Nostalgic Generation Xer’s will be happy to know the line has expanded to include four new scents that “appeal to adult sensitivities,” including hot, relax, love and the ironically named elegance. Bedroom? Meet Slimer. Wet Naps not included. [Trends in Japan]

Forget About Your R18+ Rating For Games, Australia

Gizmodo AU

I know we probably got your hopes up with our story the other week about the R18+ rating for games being back on the table, but it isn’t going to happen. South Australian Attorney-General Huge McTool Michael Atkinson is staunchly opposed to the adult classification, and seeing as how all Attorney-Generals need to agree, there’s no chance of it happening.

I was so angry when I read his argument as to why he opposes the rating over on news.com.au that I was about to write an essay dismantling every argument he had. Then I discovered that Logan over at Kotaku had already done the hard work for me. Go and check it out and spread the link to all your friends – it’s an extremely well-written and logical argument for the introduction of an R18+ rating for games in Australia. And the more people we have on our side, the better the chances that we’ll finally get treated like the adults that we are.

Could Australia Finally be Getting an R18+ Rating for Games?

Gizmodo AU

Maybe. If you take away the fear-mongering headline from this morning’s Sydney Morning Herald news story, the new federal government is planning on addressing the country’s need for an R18+ restricted rating for videogames.

Before you celebrate, it hasn’t been approved yet. The Attorney Generals from every state and the Commonwealth need to agree that the classification is in the country’s best interest before mature adults can get the freedom to play games designed for adults. But at least it’s on the discussion table again, something the previous government seemed very reticent to do.

FyreTV Brings Adult IPTV To Your Living Room

Picture a Vudu IPTV box that brings porn into your living room over the internet. That’s FyreTV, which will be “The Hottest BoXXX You’ll Ever Experience” when beta applications begin in just about 12 hours. There’s not many details on their home page or their meager press release that just says they’ve signed up non-exclusive deals with a few adult content providers. What we do know is that this is completely streaming (no downloading and saving), and you’ll be able to create favourites and search movies for “specific performers and scenes”. Sounds like FireTV isn’t the only thing that’ll be coming soon. [FyreTV via Adult FYI (NSFW) - Thanks Bryan G!]

Sony Gives Japanese Porn a Hand

Blu-ray’s comparisons with Betamax have proven unfounded, at least in the case of pornography. Because Sony is not only allowing pornography on Blu-ray, but they have begun offering resources and technical support to Japan’s adult film industry.
