About Gizmodo Australia

In the future, humans and technology will undoubtedly merge to form a super-being melded of metal and flesh, with omnipotent powers and a thirst for p ower benevolent heart. When that day comes, it's fairly safe to say that the prototype will be a Gizmodo Editor.

Because that's who we are. We are so obsessed by gadgets - or technology of any kind - that we would happily blend our bodies with technology for the betterment of humankind. But until that day comes, we.ll happily work on the Gizmodo Australia site, to deliver the most up-to-date, interesting and best cov erage of technology you'll find on the Internet.

We work in conjunction with Gizmodo in the US to bring the most relevant stories to the Australian audience. So if you've heard something that we have n't, please send us a heads up at tips@gizmodo.com.au.

FAQ

I've heard of Gizmodo.com, but what's the difference with Gizmodo.com.au?

At Giz AU, we take all the relevant stuff from the US and make it easier to read for the tech-savvy Australian. So you can say goodbye to those frustr ating spelling mistakes - no more "color", "flavor", or "neighbor", for example. We also don't assume every Australian uses the word "Crikey" on a daily basi s.

But more than that, we.ll give you local stories that you won't get from the US site. Things like the terrible state of Australian Broadband, Telcos c harging through the nose for mobile data and local releases and prices for gadgets all get covered.

Finally, we're Australian, which makes us better at sport than the American site by default. And that's important, especially for an online technology blog...

Yeah, that all sounds well and good, but I still want to access the US site.

If that's how you really feel, then we're sorry to see you go. You can get to the US version by navigating to us.gizmodo.com or clicking the link at t he top of the page that says "US Edition".

That doesn't mean we have to say goodbye forever though - you can subscribe to the AU RSS feed in the left hand column, which will only deliver the lo cal posts to your RSS reader.

What exactly is a Gizmodo?

It's a rare, Scandinavian cyborg that travelled back through time to tell you Gizmodo is a made up word.

Who are you guys? Why should I trust you?

Nick Broughall, a gadget fiend who wears 5-year-old clothes because he'd rather spend his money on tech, edits Gizmodo AU. Prior to taking the mantle at Gizmodo, he edited the hugely successful Australian T3 magazine. He's been writing about technology for over five years, roughly the same amount of time h e's owned his favourite pair of jeans. Coincidence? Perhaps.

Did you hear about this awesome gadget?

Quite possibly. But that doesn't mean we don't want to hear about it again. Tell us at tips@gizmodo.com.au.

Something on your site isn't working. Can you fix it?

Of course we can. But we're a big site, and sometimes we don't realise that it's broken. Let us know at tips@gizmodo .com.au and we'll get onto it straight away.

I have a product I'd love for you to cover. Can I send you a sample?

You bet. So long as it isn't anthrax, we.ll be happy to have a look. Best to send us a bit of info and a low-res picture first, then we'll follow up w ith getting a sample sent out.
