Needs More Mp3: George Foreman MP3 Grill

1:08AM Travis Hudson | It’s official—the MP3 player is the new clock. While the George Foreman MP3 Grill doesn’t house a player of its own, it does have an audio input to blast your music at 10 powerful watts (be it MP3 or CD). Other than that, the grill is just like all other Foreman grills, featuring grooves to drain fat and an electric base sure to kill the fun of summer cookouts. But that’s all right, because your MP3 player can blast Hot in Here just as well as it did in 2002. [product via7gadgets] More »

Sliding Puzzle Desk Concept

9:38AM Travis Hudson | Remember those sliding picture puzzles that terrorised you as a kid? Now that idea has been taken to a new level with this concept design of a sliding puzzle desk by Hsien Chang. The panels on top of the desk slide around to unveil different storage areas where a variety of your goods can be kept and organized. This desk only has a total of four tiles covering five different compartments, so it is a fairly easy puzzle to navigate through. –Travis Hudson Puzzle Table [Yanko] More »

XM Back at Full Strength

5:52AM Travis Hudson | That’s right, kids. It was a long day yesterday at the XM headquarters but everything seems to be up and running with all of the repeaters and SAT1 back online and at full strength. Here is the official word from earlier today: “We quickly identified the problem and are working hard to return to our normal levels of service. The problem occurred during the loading of software to a critical component of our satellite broadcast system, which resulted in a loss of signal from one of our satellites. We expect normal service to resume midday today (eastern daylight time).” More »

What Will iRobot’s Next Creations Be?

11:00AM Travis Hudson | iRobot, of Roomba fame, has come out of the woodwork and announced that they will be unveiling two new consumer robots this holiday season that will not be floor cleaning robots. Helen Greiner, co-founder of iRobot said “We are going to launch them from our Web space, and they are not floor-cleaning robots. They are different types of robots with mechanical features.” So, what do you folks think? They are going to be consumer robots that don’t clean. I personally think one will be some kind of a pet-aide. Like a robot that can dispense food on a schedule and maybe even scoop a cat box. If you remember, iRobot announced the Create back at CES, but this supposedly isn’t it. Hit the comments and let us know what you think it will be or should be. –Travis Hudson iRobot: New home bots for the holidays [News.com] More »

Folding Bicycle Helmet is a Lawsuit Waiting to Happen

10:20AM Travis Hudson | It is obvious that having your bicycle helmet hanging from your cubicle wall makes you look like a square. That is where the Stash Helmet is stepping in. This helmet collapses in, making it easy to stash and making your head vulnerable to any kind of crash because a folding helmet is not crash-approved (I would assume). At least it will match your folding bike. –Travis Hudson Folding helmet [Coolest-Gadgets] More »

ExerSwim Generates Currents in the Pool

10:00AM Travis Hudson | It is a super-scientific fact (I think) that swimming laps is one of the best forms of exercise for the body. Unfortunately, some folks can’t afford Olympic-size swimming pools in their backyard and are forced to work with the smaller varieties, which are impossible for lap-swimming. Enter the ExerSwim. This is a device that can be rolled into the pool and will create a constant current that is great for swimming against. Think of it like an underwater treadmill. Although, you may be better off buying enough land and installing an Olympic-size swimming pool, because the ExerSwim carries a hefty $US4,000 price tag. –Travis Hudson Product Page [Via OhGizmo!] More »
