It’s a good thing Dell’s new XPS 720 H2C has some serious cooling going on ’cause otherwise this thing would explode. Not only does it come with an overclocked CPU (up to a 3.73GHz QX6800), but it also has overclocked memory modules and a dual 8800 GTX setup. It’s essentially a big brother to the XPS 710 we saw back at CES. US pricing starts at $5,999. Full specs after the jump.
So what if you’ve got a fancy EV-DO card? Sierra Wireless’ new AirCard 597E not only brings Sprint’s EV-DO Rev A to your laptop, but GPS as well.
It has a built-in antenna that supports GPS navigation through Sprint’s network. There’s no pricing yet, but it’s expected to come out mid-June with support for PCs and Macs (as long as your notebook has an Express Card slot). – Louis Ramirez

The folks at Apple Insider are reporting that Apple will soon ditch its baby iMac (17-inch model) to make room for new 20- and 24-inch systems. Like the MacBooks, the speed bumps on the iMacs are expected to be modest. The new models (which are rumored to arrive at the end of June) will also be accompanied by a new line of 24-inch Cinema Displays. Personally I think it’s about time they ditch the 17-inch. People want wider and bigger, and even though the 17-inch is an entry-level machine, it’d be nice to see Apple make 20-inches a standard (without jacking up the price too much). – Louis Ramirez
Apple’s Next-gen iMacs to Add a Touch of Grace [AppleInsider]
Motorola has been on a mobile kick as of late and for their next project, they’ve teamed up with Kodak to use their CMOS sensor in a Motorola-Kodak cameraphone that’ll sport a 5-megapixel camera.
Not many details are known about the phone, although we do know it’ll debut just in time for the holidays. Only time will tell if it’ll be able to take on Sony Ericsson and its Cybershots (which happen to be my favourite cameraphones). – Louis Ramirez
Kodak’s CMOS Camera Will Be 5-megapixel [News.com]
While Intel and AMD continue to duke it out on the CPU front, the guys at IBM have unveiled a new dual-core processor that can hit 4.7GHz without sucking up so much power. As an added “up yours” to Apple, the new processor, dubbed the Power6, was described as being fast enough to “download the entire iTunes catalog” in a single minute. The CPU will be used mainly for high-end servers. Perhaps someone at Apple right now is smacking their forehead as they yell out “doh!” – Louis Ramirez

For the most part, speakers this small never sound good, but we won’t judge until we try, and with looks like this, how could we not wanna try? The credit card–sized VX-818 is 1.3cm thick and it connects to any Bluetooth-enabled gadget doubling as a speaker or a hands-free device. Don’t have a Bluetooth phone? You can also connect via a miniUSB port, standard audio jacks, and both line-in and line-out jacks. The VX-818 also has touch-sensitive controls (what sexy gadget doesn’t nowadays). No word on pricing, but we wouldn’t mind having one of these in our gadget bag. – Louis Ramirez

LG seems to be all over the place nowadays, and pretty soon they’ll be inside your car, too. The LN740, LN735, and LN730 mark the company’s first GPS systems. The top of the line LN740 ($US450) will feature a 10cm screen along with a 90-day trial of Traffic.com (which reports live traffic info to you). Meanwhile, the LN735 ($350) and the LN730 ($300) will both have 9cm displays.
All three units will come with pre-loaded Navteq software and they’ll be able to play MP3s and display photos via an SD card slot. Not bad, but personally I might default to the 11cm TomTom which is still more affordable than the LN740. – Louis Ramirez
