Sony’s brand new flagship smartphone line now has three different screen sizes on offer in the 5.2-inch Z5, 4.6-inch Compact and 5.5-inch Premium variants. We finally know Australian pricing and availability, too; here’s when you can get one, and how much you’ll pay.
In Detail: Sony Unveils Xperia Z5 And Z5 Compact Plus A 4K Monster, The 5.5-Inch Z5 Premium
Sony’s new Z5 range of phones finally feature a cover-less USB port, and are fully IP68 waterproof rated despite that improvement. The Z5 is built around a new 23-megapixel, 1/2.3-inch sensor camera, which Sony unsurprisingly says is its best ever — with the world’s best low-light performance.
Two days of full-usage battery life, too, is promised from the mainstream Z5 model and its aggressive energy-saving Stamina mode. Enthusiasts will be happy with the fact that the Z5, too, has the microSD card slot that is missing from its Apple and other Android competitors.
The 4.6-inch Sony Xperia Z5 Compact starts at $849, and will be out in Australia next week.
The 5.2-inch Sony Xperia Z5 starts at $999, and will be out in Australia next week.
The 5.5-inch Sony Xperia Z5 Premium starts at $1199, and will be out in Australia in November. You also get a $79 Sony noise-cancelling headset bundled with this top-of-the-line model.
