About me:
HTC Hero: Unlocked At Harvey Norman For $799
November 19th, 2009 at 4:08 PMI like the idea of unlocked, no contract phones. But as an OPTION, in this case I can’t afford that outright and would much rather just renew my old contract and have a phone thrown in.
Of course, I’m with Telstra, no Android for me yet.
Unless someone picks up the game rather smartly there’s going to be a lot of unhappy Telstra customers griping at HTC, Telstra, or anyone within earshot.
When Rear Projection Made It BIG
November 13th, 2009 at 1:10 PMI loved my massive rear projection telly. But the electricity it gobbled up was similarly massive!
Racing On Carbon Fibre Legs: How Abled Should We Be?
November 13th, 2009 at 1:07 PMGreat reading, well written and thought provoking article. It’s a pleasure reading your editorials this week.
A Gadget To Tell You Your Skin Ain't Great
November 6th, 2009 at 10:25 AMI have a friend in the makeup industry and a while back she showed me this gadget that looks like a more advanced version of the same thing.
Analysis of oil content in your skin helps sell expensive makeup products evidently.
MonsterMonster Laptop Stand Will Chomp Your Face (Or Not)
November 5th, 2009 at 8:07 PMAt first I thought… WANT! but then I realised, it’s just a few pieces of cut-out acrylic, how hard could it be to make!
If You Buy A Used Xbox 360 That's Been Banned, You're Screwed
November 5th, 2009 at 8:06 PMExactly. Of course some of us look at all this and then go buy a PS3 instead. hmmm, love the PS3.
Logitech G27 Racing Wheel Steers Its Way To Australia
November 5th, 2009 at 7:56 PMDoes it come in a right hand drive version for us Australians who don’t want to relearn how to drive a manual with our right hand?
Welcome To The Company, Here's Your 1980s Cubicle
November 5th, 2009 at 10:29 AMI always dreamed of owning one of those robotic arms :( Never got one though.
Motorola Droid Review
November 4th, 2009 at 4:37 PMHey Giz AU staff… can we get a round up of what is available here in Australia, what’s likely to be seen soon, and what carriers are going to have them?
All this US news is depressing!
The Next Best Thing After Riding A Vespa
October 31st, 2009 at 5:34 PMOh this is just too cool for school! I’ll say yes please, before I go look at the price :)
The Ridiculously Cool Air Board Personal Hovercraft
October 31st, 2009 at 5:30 PMThe video quotes $15,000 not $140,0000. Still ridiculous, but not millionaire play toy, just rich kid toy instead.
Sony Promise PlayTV Coming This Year... In Writing
October 30th, 2009 at 1:14 PMThe lack of ad skipping could kill this device for a lot of people. There’s no reason it should be ‘Freeview’ compliant, that’s just marketing rubbish trying to sell digital to the below average joe.
I’m curious though as to why SBS is lost if you select ‘other’ for your country. Are they on a bit of spectrum not normally used?
Why Every Country Has A Different F#$%ing Plug
October 30th, 2009 at 11:58 AMIndeed, Aussie plugs feel more secure in the socket, are designed to prevent being plugged in wrongly and just seem… right.
Didn’t China start changing their plugs a few years back, adopting the Australian style?
Acer Launching Windows Home Server In Oz Next Year
October 26th, 2009 at 5:22 PMI just want to know what happened to the Acer EasyStore NAS ?? I bought one, a mate bought one, and we both went to buy more and recommend to friends and they’d disappeared from the market!
Videogioco Is...Is...I Don't Know What The Hell This Is
October 15th, 2009 at 4:07 PMGreat stop motion, clever concept. Pity about the subject matter, reminds me of flip books my mate used to make with his science texts at school.
How To Best A Master Lock
October 7th, 2009 at 10:33 AMMuch quicker using a small shim cut from a can. :)
Want To Know What's Inside The Windows 7 Party Pack?
October 6th, 2009 at 2:44 PMat least Intel send out high powered rockets! Now that’s what I call a party popper!
Your Running Shoes Are Probably Bad For You
October 1st, 2009 at 11:00 AMAhh this is why I enjoy wearing my Converse All-Stars so much. Never liked any other ’sports’ shoe.
No TV For The Big Game? Solved.
September 25th, 2009 at 10:25 AMAT $895 you could head to JB or even HArvey’s and pick up a pretty decent LCD.
Gizmodo’s editorial is getting worse, this is just a blatant ad.
What Is This Giant Chronometer Doing On This Delivery Bike?
September 24th, 2009 at 5:24 PMI wonder if Neil Stephenson can claim royalties on this idea? Someone’s been reading Snow Crash.
MP3 Inventor Demonstrates First Working Laser Mic
September 23rd, 2009 at 10:49 AMIn measuring something you must affect it? That may be so on a quantum level, but the statement isn’t really accurate.
If I measure the distance between two points as I drive along I am not affecting the distance between them.
If I use a piece of string to see how long a piece of wood is, am I changing the wood?
Robotic Walking Tiles Would Have Made Better Billie Jean Video
September 23rd, 2009 at 10:38 AMSame here, this is old news, and the tech was more advanced than this.
Sprint Hero Review: Faster, Stronger, Uglier
September 18th, 2009 at 10:52 AMI’m getting tired of reading all about these phones on US networks! I want to see Telstra pick up the ball and play with Android in Australia.
HAL Robo-Suit Exoskeleton Hits The Streets Of Tokyo
September 11th, 2009 at 10:19 AMThe future is truly here. When all these latest techs start getting put together we have vision assisted, augmented reality, augmented movement and strength etc etc, so very soon police forces and military will be equipped.
Can you imagine the cop on the beat, he’ll see everything, know everything and be able to chase down anything.
And that’s nothing compared to the soldier who’ll be walking extreme distances and carrying some seriously heavy kit.
Win! One Of 10 Copies Of Stargate SG-1 Children of the Gods: The Final Cut
September 2nd, 2009 at 12:47 PMA world like those found in Anne McCaffrey’s novels, earthlike, mainly unspoilt with good yarran beer and dragons!
