Justin, sweetie, what are you doing? I thought you were going country, bro. Then I could be content to ignore you. Instead, you come out with this cheap I, Robot knockoff that’s just sci-fi enough to pique my interest. Only it’s bad.

Justin Timberlake has released the first single off his upcoming album, Man of the Woods. All the promos for this album suggested he was going full-on folksy, abandoned the sexy-backness of the past in favour of a hike in the forest.

But the single, “Filthy” is anything but. Taking place at a fictional tech conference in the year 2028, it’s all about a Steve Jobs-esque Timberlake wooing audiences with his new robot that’s basically what you’d get if all the most generic sci-fi animatronics were thrown together and given Gene Kelly dance moves.

But…did I mention the robot fucks?

That was not something I wanted to see on a Saturday. Well, if I had to suffer through it, now all of you have to suffer with me. You’re welcome. Seeing as how you’ve lived through the worst of it, might as well endure the rest.
