Instead of showing everyone punching the crap out of stuff, this year’s now-traditional joint advertisement for the return of DC shows is a bit more relaxed, with the emphasis on the gang coming together to put on their costumes and kick butt. But they kinda end up ignoring their latest superfriend in the process.
A shortened version of the ad was released last week, but the full version is much more fun, with extra jokes (especially poor Ollie pondering if he’s the only hero who has to suit up “one leg at a time” like a normal person) and guitar riffs that wouldn’t be out of place in the original Power Rangers. But it’s really the end that makes the whole thing:
Poor Black Lightning. Shut out of the whole damn universe, and now no one will wait for him to finish charging up so he can do the hero walk with everyone else. So rude.
The DC supershows, including Black Lightning, return next week.
